I haven't been able to stop laughing since yesterday. I've been planning to have my hair highlighted since this past summer, and I finally made an appointment last month. I was so excited. It's been so long since I've had it done that I even sprung for the most expensive, classy hair salon in town.

Yesterday was the day of destiny, and as has been the plan, I asked for blonde and light red hightlights. Strawberry blonde, I said.

It came out light blonde and orange. Bright, burnt orange.

For about five seconds, I was speechless, and then I couldn't stop grinning. I have no idea why, but I adore it. I love it to pieces. I look in the mirror and laugh and grin.

Orange, really? But it's true. My hair has very obvious orange stripes, and I think it's adorable. Very punky, but adorable. And it doesn't help that I also got it cut in a very distinctive style that I adore even more than I do the color! Plus, for someone who is absolutely hopeless at styling hair, I can actually style it and it looks perfect, and it takes like ten minutes from start to finish. Super easy!

I will attempt pictures, but so far it just isn't showing properly on camera. Looks like a pretty normal dark brown in photographs. I will have to work on that.

In other news, I have become obsessed with jdramas. So far, love love love Hana-Kimi, Hana Yori Dango and am partway through Nodame Cantabile which is bizarre but cute. Am midway through downloading the first three episodes of Gokusen. I want to look into a few kdramas. I watched the first few episodes of Coffee Prince a while back, and I want to finish that, then try to find a few more.

Plus, of course, thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. I am still upset about Ginger, but more upbeat now. I think denying that it was happening and then having a bunch of things happen that made it impossible to ignore she wasn't going to be around forever kind of made me panic. But she's all right for now. Healthy, and still my darling dog. I am learning to relax and just love her each and every day without worry, simply being grateful that we have her.

That happened to me re: orange hair, except it looked awful, like an orange pushup pop that clashed with my skin color. I'd love to see yours!

The funny thing is that it's always been a nightmare of mine. I have only once attempted to color my own hair for fear of an orange disaster, and even that ended in a different color disaster. I think everyone has known someone it happened to, or heard stories about it.

I suppose it helps that I really am quite laid back when it comes to hair disasters. I've had my share, more than two or three horrible haircuts, a poodle perm, and even one bad dye job (went for dark red, got purple), and every single time, it wasn't the end of the world. It grew out or it got fixed and really, you live through them.

This is definitely not something I would get again, but it's making me so cheerful I really can't regret it. Except for the fact that a bunch of my closet is going to clash. I will have to figure that out. Thank goodness I own a lot of blue and black shirts!

Anyway, I will definitely try to figure out how to capture it on camera. Even besides wanting to show it off, I really need to record it for posterity!

Okay, I'm obviously looking in the wrong places. Where are you finding your J-Dramas? I've seen the anime Nodame Cantabile and would love to see how they translated it to a live cast.

I'm getting them a couple different places, some faster than others, but SARS fansubs (http://www.sars-fansubs.com/) has all the jdramas I listed. They've got BT and IRC to distribute, although I'm using the BT so I'm not sure if they have Nodame Cantabile on IRC.

Now I kind of want to see the anime. It seems like the jdramas I like are anime/manga adaptations, but they're all new to me. I know HYD was a really popular manga, but I actually never read it or watched the anime. Same for Hana-Kimi and Nodame Cantabile, although I'd never heard of Nodame Cantabile.

However... on my friendslist, my jdrama pimp is maechi. She introduced me to them, and got me hooked. Evil! Within the past few days, she uploaded the whole series on MegaUpload (which for me, is miles faster than BT) so if you friend her and have her friend you back, you'll probably get it a lot faster.
